“I’m pleased to report that the bacon was absolutely fantastic last night. My partner said it was the best he had ever had, and I think it was the best present I’ve ever given anyone - it lasted all year!” ~ Rachel H, London

Essentially this scheme is about food provenance and being aware of where your food comes from and how it got onto your plate. The adoption scheme gives people the chance to watch it every step of the way and follow your food from field to fork.

To begin with you can choose and name your pig. Most piglets are adopted aged about 8 weeks old. You may even come to the farm in person to choose your piglet!

You may also come to visit the farm and visit your piglet up to twice throughout the process. When you visit you may bring family and friends and make it a grand day out.

You will also receive a series of email updates as well as an informative welcome pack through the post with colour photos of your pig living with his/her companions.

As well as tracking your pig’s progress by email or by post, you will also be able to check up on him/her online. We post all photos online alongside any news relating to your chosen pig. We can even name him/her online if you so wish.

For those who really want to get closer to their porcine friend, we can also professionally print for you postcards, fridge magnets, invitations, notepads and compliments slips, all with your pig’s picture on. Click here for more details.

Since summer 2007 we have been offering the exclusive Yorkshire Meats Porcine Wear Range which encompasses everthing from aprons to underwear all embroidered with our distinctive logo and your name on every garment. Click here

And finally, after about 6 months of adopting, you can decide how you want the meat back. You can choose roasting joints, belly pork. back bacon, streaky bacon, 4 flavours of sausage, gammon, loin pork chops or even a hog roast. The choice is yours, and we will help you every step of the way.
