  • Yorkshire Post - (October 2011) -  ‘A Fresh Take on Malton’ ITALIAN cookery writer and chef Antonio Carluccio visited North Yorkshire yesterday to sample some of the region’s finest foods and adopt a piglet. Watch the film here

  • THE GUARDIAN - (05.03.08) - On March 5th hundreds of pig farmers marched outside Westminster to highlight the difficulties they faced.   • BBC4 FARMING TODAY - (18.08.07) - Yorkshire Meats saw its radio debut talking more abut the adoption scheme and how popular it had become across the country.
  • ITV YORKSHIRE AND THE NORTH EAST - (14.06.07) TV News item at 6.00) - This piece saw the reporter interview one of our local pig adopters (Nicola) and her daughter. Nicola was given the adoption as a present and in her interview she explained why the scheme has been a success for her family.

    THE DARLINGTON & STOCKTON TIMES (May 6th 2007)- The news of the expansion of the adopt-a-pig scheme to the national scale prompted this article in this regional broadsheet newspaper. Click here

    THE NORTHERN ECHO (May 4th 2007)- As part of our adopt-a-pig expansion program, the Northern Echo ran a piece about the benefits of following your food from field to fork and how other farms can join the scheme also. Click here

    THE SATURDAY TIMES (March 17th 2007)- In the article written by the Times’ Food Detective, our adopt-a-pig scheme was featured alongside other top names on where the best places in the country are to buy top pork. Click here

    ITV YORKSHIRE AND THE NORTH EAST)- (TV News item at 6.00) - Featuring our innovative adopt-a-pig scheme, our rare-breed pictures were beamed into the homes of over 800,000. Reported Jon Hill visited with an ITV filming crew and by the end of the day produced a fabulous 4 minute feature which aimed to highlight the importance of food provenance.

    THE DAILY TELEGRAPH - (Front page of food & drink) - (November 2006)- When a freelance journalist spotted a previous Yorkshire Meats article, she thought it would make the perfect story for the Telegraph. This article concentrates on the adopt-a-pig scheme and how this is becoming increasingly popular across the UK. It explains how the scheme works and the importance of the rare breeds which it helps to save. Click here

    THE YORKSHIRE POST COUNTRY WEEK September 2006)- (Cover story & middle page spread) - Through this excellent article, Yorkshire Meats’ innovative adopt-a-pig scheme was presented to thousands of readers. Country week editor Michael Hickling also reported on how Yorkshire Meats aims to make an entry into the Italian export market through Salone del Gusto. The article was later published in the Peterborough Evening Telegraph.

  • SLOWFOOD.COM (SEPTEMBER 2006)- As a follow up article to the Yorkshire Post and the York Evening Press, the website ‘Slow-web’ wrote another article about Yorkshire Meat’s participation in Salone del Gusto. Being one of the host companies for the food festival, Slow Food’s press office also wrote an article on the same topic in Italian.   

    THE TIMES’ STYLE MAGAZINE (December 2005)- Featured alongside some of the world’s leading brands, Yorkshire Meats’ innovative Adopt-a-Pig Scheme appeared in the magazine highlighting the importance of food provenance in the modern world.

    DAILY MAIL (November 16th 2005)- Yorkshire Meats attended the exclusive award ceremony and networking dinner in London for the ‘Enterprising Young Brits Award’. Being shortlisted gave us the chance to meet other new enterprises and dine with Gordon Brown. Click here
