Breeding and rearing pigs is a continuous process at Yorkshire Meats. With 3 pedigree sows and a boar, we aim for 6 litters every year. This is supplemented by us buying in litter of other OSB piglets from reputable sellers. At the other end of the scale, we are selling meat on a weekly basis, with pigs going to slaughter on average once every month or so.
This set of 3 pigs came from another Yorkshire breeder’s sow and our boar. We collected them aged 8 weeks and then they moved straight outdoors into our purpose build pig-pens. Here they stayed for 7 months, before becoming the perfect porcine product.
