Adopt-a-pig was started in 2002 by Yorkshire Meats, a small and independent meat company. We still rear our own Oxford Sandy & Black pigs are are currently one of the largest breeders in the North of England. The Adopt-a-pig scheme was set up with the aim to promote the breed and raise awareness of the importance of food provenance. Since being featured in the national and international press it has taken off, and there are currently people adopting our pigs from all over the UK. |
